<body><h1>Overview</h1>
<p>The <b>Overview</b> page displays the overall information of the managed servers, allowing the CMS host to instantly monitor the quantity, status, storage usage, services, and packages of the servers.</p>
<p>Each card shows different server information. If you do not belong to the <b>administrators</b> group, you can only view the information of the servers that you have the permission to manage. Clicking the upper-right arrow icon <img class="inline" style="vertical-align:middle" src="../image/CMS_arrow.png" width="" height="15" /> on each card directly jumps to the corresponding pages containing further details; clicking the drop-down menu on the upper-right corner allows you to filter information by server group. The following sections explain the information shown on each card.</p>
<h2>Server</h2>
<p>This card displays the quantity and connection status of the managed servers:</p>
<ul>
<li><b>Connected</b>: The network connection between the CMS host and its managed server is normal.</li>
<li><b>Unavailable</b>: The CMS host cannot connect to its managed server because of connection issue or other issues.</li>
</ul>
<h2>DSM Update</h2>
<p>This card displays the DSM versions installed on the managed servers:</p>
<ul>
<li><b>Up-to-date</b>: The DSM versions installed on the servers are the latest.</li>
<li><b>Update available</b>: The DSM versions installed on the servers can be updated. Click <img class="inline" style="vertical-align:middle" src="../image/CMS_arrow.png" width="" height="15" /> to update DSM, and refer to <a href="cms_software.html">DSM Update</a> for detailed instructions.</li>

<li>Servers in <b>Unavailable</b> status will not be listed.</li>

<h2>Volume</h2>
<p>This card displays the overall volume status of all the managed servers in the upper section, and shows the volume capacity of all the managed servers in the lower section:</p>
<p><b>Overall volume status:</b></p>
<ul>
<li><b>Healthy</b>: The volumes of all the managed servers are working properly.</li>
<li><b>Attention</b>: Issues have occurred to the volumes on one or more managed servers. The corresponding table shows the volumes in abnormal status, where up to two of the most severe statuses will be listed (e.g., crashed or read-only). Please check the details instantly by clicking <img class="inline" style="vertical-align:middle" src="../image/CMS_arrow.png" width="" height="15" /> or directly going to <b>Storage</b> > <b>Volume</b>. We highly recommend going to the server with issues and launching its <b>Storage Manager</b> > <b>Volume</b> for more information and the recommended actions.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Volume capacity:</b></p>
<ul>
<li><b>< 80%</b>: Less than 80% of volume capacity is used.</li>
<li><b>80 - 90%</b>: 80 - 90% of volume capacity is used.</li>
<li><b>> 90%</b>: More than 90% of volume capacity is used. We recommend <a href="https://www.synology.com/knowledgebase/DSM/help/DSM/StorageManager/volume_expand_volume?version=7" target="_blank">expanding volume capacity</a> or <a href="https://www.synology.com/knowledgebase/DSM/help/DSM/StorageManager/storage_pool_expand_add_disk?version=7" target="_blank">adding an extra drive</a> to the corresponding servers for higher flexibility in storage management.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Drive</h2>
<p>This card displays the drive status of the managed servers:</p>
<ul>
<li><b>Healthy</b>: The drives of all servers are healthy and working properly.</li>
<li><b>Attention</b>: Issues have occurred to the drives of one or more managed servers. Please check the details instantly by clicking <img class="inline" style="vertical-align:middle" src="../image/CMS_arrow.png" width="" height="15" /> or directly going to <b>Storage</b> > <b>Drive</b>. We highly recommend logging in to the server with issues and go to its <b>Storage Manager</b> > <b>HDD/SSD</b> for more information and the recommended actions.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Service</h2>
<p>This card lists up to five services monitored by the CMS host. The services are listed by service name and in alphabetical order when all servers are in <b>Enabled</b> status; and are listed by server quantity (from most to least) when one or more servers are in <b>Abnormal</b> status.</p>

<h2>Package</h2>
<p>This card lists up to five packages installed on the managed servers. Only the packages selected for monitoring will be listed. The packages are listed by package name and in alphabetical order when all servers are in <b>Running</b> status; and are listed by server quantity (from most to least) when one or more servers are in <b>Abnormal</b> status.</p>
<p>If you have not yet selected the packages for monitoring, please follow the steps below to select packages:</p>
<ol>
<li>Click the <b>Package</b> link or go to the <b>Package</b> page on the left panel.</li>
<li>Click the <b>Package List</b> button.</li>
<li>Select the packages that you want to monitor and click <b>OK</b>.</li>
